About the role

Midlevel or senior individual contributor role focused on building, maintaining, and promoting Databento’s JavaScript client library, with some full-stack Python work. Remote-friendly with multiple US office locations.

Responsibilities

Own, build, and maintain our JavaScript client library, ensuring it is robust, well-tested, and easy for external users to integrate with.
Integrate native libraries into JavaScript/TypeScript code using tools like N-API, node-addon-api, or Wasm.
Build responsive, performant front-end applications using React, Redux, Vite, Web Workers, and WebSockets.
Contribute to full-stack projects, including backend work in Python (or Rust), REST API design, and database/migration work.
Work between design and engineering teams to translate designs (e.g. Figma handoffs) into production-ready components and design systems.
Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, including publishing to npm.
Document components using Storybook or similar tooling.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth feature rollouts and updates.

Qualifications

Experience in TypeScript/JavaScript development.
Backend experience building APIs, working with databases, and migrations (Python or Rust acceptable).
Full-stack experience with backends in Python or Rust, including REST API design.
