About the role

Senior / Staff React Native Developer responsible for owning and shaping the mobile experience used by millions of Canadians. Lead technical direction for React Native architecture, bridge JS and native modules for performance, and mentor engineers to ship high-quality code.

Responsibilities

  • Architect & Scale: Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable frontend applications using React Native for iOS, Android, and Web.
  • DX Tooling: Improve and maintain developer experience tooling to ensure our engineering teams can ship high-quality code at speed.
  • Drive Performance: Optimize app performance, render times, and memory leaks. Thread native code (Swift/Kotlin) into the React Native ecosystem when JavaScript bottlenecks occur.
  • Ship End-to-End: Write clean, modular, and highly testable code. Own features from architectural design through deployment to App Store and Google Play.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead technical design reviews, champion automated testing (unit, integration, and e2e), and mentor junior/intermediate developers.
  • Minimize Friction: Help optimize processes while maintaining technical credibility and strategic involvement.

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of software engineering experience, with emphasis on building and scaling complex production mobile applications.
  • Deep, production-proven expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and React Native.
  • Familiarity with native mobile development (iOS/Swift or Android/Kotlin) is highly valued.
