About the role

Senior Analyst role within Affirm's Risk & Analytics (R&A) organization, owning complex analytical problems end to end, translating data into business strategy, and influencing decisions across technical and non-technical teams. Role involves potential placement across multiple teams (POS, DTC/Card, Fraud, Core Analytics, Servicing, International Expansion) with a shared interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize End-to-End Strategy: derive insights and optimize business, risk, or growth strategies across products and geographies.
  • Manage Macro & Market Trends: monitor portfolio performance and exogenous macroeconomic trends to adjust analytical and operational strategies.
  • Model & Capability Building: design, build, and interpret performance metrics for scalable risk, fraud, or growth models with Engineering and ML teams.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: collaborate with Product, Legal, and Compliance to translate regulatory and market requirements into analytical policy and product design.
  • Oversee Frameworks & Launches: develop and execute analytical frameworks; ensure new product launches and market entries align with risk appetite and regulations.
  • External & Strategic Alignment: engage with merchants, vendors, and partners to align practices and strengthen relationships.
  • AI Leverage & Mentorship: build repeatable AI-assisted workflows and mentor junior analysts.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of analytically driven experience in consumer lending, credit, or fintech, leveraging advanced analytics to optimize business strategies.
  • Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or related quantitative field.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
  • Deep expertise in data mining, data visualization, and statistical modeling; experience applying machine learning to business or risk management problems.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives bridging Product, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of consumer lending regulations, regional market dynamics, and broader economic landscape influencing policy and growth.
  • Proven ability to translate complex regulatory and economic insights into actionable strategies.
  • Exceptional communication skills to influence senior stakeholders across technical and non-technical functions.
