About the role
Lambda’s hardware is the product. Own the GPU fleet lifecycle and drive the roadmap for NVIDIA platforms, node/cluster configurations, and InfiniBand fabric options, turning silicon roadmaps into sellable hardware products and ensuring alignment with partners and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Own the Hardware Roadmap: Define what GPU platforms Lambda offers, when, and at what configuration, from today’s B200 and H200 class systems through next-generation NVIDIA platforms.
- Drive New Platform Introductions: Lead new NVIDIA platform introductions end to end, from early roadmap alignment through general availability as On-Demand GPU Instances and 1-Click Clusters.
- Translate Demand Into Investment: Turn customer demand signals and benchmark data into fleet investment recommendations, and defend those recommendations with executives and finance.
- Define Node and Cluster Configurations: Specify node configurations and InfiniBand fabric options for clusters from 64 to 1,024+ GPUs, ensuring NCCL and MPI are pre-configured and performant.
- Align Partner Roadmaps: Work with NVIDIA and ODM partners so Lambda’s plans align with silicon and systems roadmaps.
- Turn Silicon Into Product: Collaborate with data center, supply chain, and infrastructure engineering to convert silicon roadmaps into reliable SKUs with clear positioning and launch plans.
- Win Adoption: Communicate roadmap and data-driven rationale to engineers, designers, executives, and customers.
- Ship, Measure, Iterate: Launch hardware products, define success metrics, and iterate based on data.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of product management experience on technical infrastructure, hardware, systems, or platform products (senior: 10+ years with multi-team ownership).
- Track record turning data and customer signals into clear build decisions with evidence-based conclusions.
- Proven ability to align engineers, executives, and external partners to a plan through influence, not authority.
- Historically shipped products requiring hardware, software, and operations coordination under external deadlines.
- Fluent in technical discussions with hardware and systems engineers, comfortable with GPU architectures, interconnects, memory, and data center constraints.
- Experience making hardware/fleet investment recommendations under uncertainty with measurable outcomes.
- Ability to write concise, conclusion-first documents with supporting data.
- Ability to define iterative plans moving an organization from current state to desired outcomes.
