About the role
Senior Product Manager to lead the evolution of Datadog's fleet and lifecycle management capability, enabling visibility into and control over observability software across infrastructure, with a focus on deployment lifecycle for core agents and OpenTelemetry collectors. Cross-functional role shaping a unified fleet experience across UI, API, and MCP for humans and AI agents, in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the product vision and roadmap for a unified fleet and lifecycle management capability spanning multiple product lines and deployment models.
- Define what "managed" means for each new software component as it's brought into fleet, balancing consistency with each component's operational model.
- Drive a phased expansion plan, sequencing new components into fleet based on customer value, technical complexity, and dependency readiness.
- Partner with engineering leads across teams to align on shared architecture principles supporting disparate software components.
- Represent the voice of the customer for UI and AI/automated tooling that operates programmatically.
- Build the business case, define success metrics, and communicate roadmap and trade-offs to engineering, design, sales, and executive stakeholders.
- Stay closely connected to customers and design partners to validate priorities and de-risk major roadmap bets.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience, with a track record of owning complex, technical, cross-product capability.
- Experience shipping infrastructure, DevOps, IT operations, or observability/monitoring products, ideally involving fleet management, configuration management, or software lifecycle/deployment tooling.
- Demonstrated ability to build product direction across multiple engineering teams with differing priorities, and to drive alignment without direct authority.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity, defining scope and sequencing capabilities that deliver customer value incrementally.
- Strong technical fluency; you should be comfortable discussing architecture trade-offs with engineers.
- Experience designing products for emerging AI-agent/automation use cases is a strong plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill multi-team initiatives into clear narratives.
