About the role

Forward Deployed Engineer role at Salesforce focusing on designing, building, and deploying agentic AI solutions directly inside enterprise customer environments. Collaborates with Deployment Strategist to co-build production-ready solutions, spanning configuration, customization, and full-stack deployment to deliver measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Develop AI agents and experiences that take real actions for real organisations and are in production at large enterprises.
  • Design agent intelligence: prompts, reasoning, tool calls, and integration with customer systems.
  • Own technical components end-to-end from architecture to production deployment and observability.
  • Build and integrate data pipelines on Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, Databricks, and customer data platforms.
  • Build and maintain agent performance dashboards and customer KPI reporting to track deployment health and business outcomes.
  • Contribute to proofs-of-concept and MVPs that move to deployable status quickly.
  • Co-build with customers and partners, sharing best practices and enabling teams to become more capable.
  • Surface platform gaps, edge cases, and field insights to senior engineers and product teams.
  • Partner with Deployment Strategist to translate customer challenges into ship-ready agentic solutions.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of software engineering or technical delivery experience with at least one production system (ideally AI tech stack, full-stack, or frontier models).
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Prior customer-facing technical delivery experience (consulting, professional services, or forward deployed engineering).
  • Fluency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex (willing to add more as needed).
  • Hands-on with LLMs and prompt engineering; ability to explain prompt failures and improvements.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, APIs, and integration patterns.
  • Ability to engage with sales teams and customer architects; ship quality code with engineering rigor.
  • Curiosity about evolving AI/data landscape; willingness to pilot tools and experiment with new models.
  • Comfortable collaborating in team environments and traveling ~25% of the time.
