About the role

Platform Security Engineer role focusing on securing Datadog’s infrastructure and application components within a multi-cloud, self-managed Kubernetes environment. Hybrid work arrangement in Paris, France.

Responsibilities

  • Solve our most challenging cloud infrastructure security & application security problems starting with our core building blocks and golden paths.
  • Enable our engineers to build and ship secure solutions quickly.
  • Build and extend Datadog’s Platform Security solutions.
  • Leverage and influence the direction of Datadog’s products to secure our infrastructure, and provide internal feedback that enables our teams to improve the products for ourselves and our customers.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Hands-on security implementation experience in large multi-cloud Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience securing enterprise SaaS applications, including authentication, authorization, and API input validation.
  • Linux kernel internals knowledge (namespaces, cgroups, capabilities, seccomp) and hardening (KASLR, module allowlisting, KSPP).
  • Experience with virtualization/microVMs (KVM, QEMU, Kata Containers, Firecracker).
  • Familiarity with container runtimes (containerd, OCI runtimes).
  • Experience securing deployment & management mechanisms for software/infrastructure changes.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK, PASTA/STRIDE, CIS).
  • Prior experience in Software/Platform/Systems/Network Security or Cloud Security.
  • Go, Python, or Rust software engineering background with code review experience.
  • Experience with Kubernetes PKI & network technologies (e.g., Consul, Envoy, Cilium, Vault, Istio) and eBPF tooling.
  • Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to work independently and in fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Up-to-date with modern security best practices and threats.
