About the role

Mobile Product Designer responsible for the experience of Linear’s mobile apps, collaborating closely with mobile engineers and product leads, and improving the design system and mobile-specific features.

Responsibilities

  • Own the experience of our iOS and Android mobile apps, including guiding the adaptation of desktop features to mobile
  • Pair closely with mobile engineers and product leads to initiate and complete mobile-specific projects, no hand-offs
  • Take opportunities to redesign or refine key screens and flows, as well as smaller quality issues and “paper cuts” as you use Linear
  • Create mockups, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals to communicate ideas and describe their execution
  • Guide and inspire fellow designers through collaborative critique of work-in-progress across both mobile and desktop platforms
  • Use and improve our lightweight design system components
  • Help with hiring new teammates that can elevate our team and product

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience designing software, with mobile-specific emphasis
  • Courage to ask questions, experiment, and advocate for what you feel is right
  • Humility to accept feedback, adapt your thinking, and iterate toward the best solution
  • Experience with prototyping directly in code, or with tools like Figma, Origami, etc
  • Ability to distill problems and feedback, then design clear, focused solutions
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills — much of our work is async
