About the role

Senior member of the technical staff responsible for designing, developing, and owning distributed containerized services and systems in a multi-tenant cloud environment, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with product management to deliver robust security-focused software in a Kubernetes-based stack.

Responsibilities

  • Develop containerized (micro) services and components for a distributed multi-tenant system that processes data and real-time events and telemetry from multiple public clouds to provide real-time insights, visibility, and security recommendations to customers.
  • Mentor junior engineers, new-grads, and interns to help them grow as engineers and become productive team members.
  • Primarily write code in Java (Spring Boot) and work with data pipelines using Kafka/SQL or other interfaces.
  • Leverage Kubernetes for service infrastructure; openness to other languages and stacks with a willingness to learn.
  • Own critical features and subsystems and the entire software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment and usage by customers.
  • Own operational aspects of the system to understand real-world challenges and write usable, supportable software for a delightful customer experience.
  • Own quality across development, including early testing, functional/integration, and performance testing to ensure robust products.
  • Partner with Product Management to review and refine requirements beyond customer expectations.
  • Develop deep understanding of customer problems through stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent (Master’s a plus)
  • 5+ years building distributed & scalable software and systems
  • Passion for software development and continuous learning in a team setting
  • Cloud experience (AWS / Azure / GCP) with API/programming level usage
  • Experience with networking and security controls is a plus
  • Kubernetes-based platform experience with containerized services
  • Java and Spring Boot or Golang experience
  • REST API client experience
  • CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible are nice to have
  • General TCP/IP networking knowledge
  • Unix/Linux programming environment experience
