About the role
Lead the product design team to shape the end-to-end member experience across web and mobile, guide design strategy, and build an AI-native design practice at Kindred.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and grow a cross-disciplinary design team spanning product design, research, and content/UX writing
- Run the rituals, feedback culture, and career paths that enable the team to do their best work
- Set the design vision and strategy for Kindred, aligning with product, engineering, marketing and operations
- Champion member-centric thinking using qualitative and quantitative data
- Drive strategic growth design focusing on activation, conversion, and turning members into evangelists
- Own the quality bar for the member experience, from major interface changes to details
- Build and scale design systems, tooling, rituals, and processes for a growing team
- Lead an AI-native design practice, defining how AI is used across prototyping, research synthesis, and production
- Partner with marketing and brand to ensure product and brand coherence across acquisition and in-product experience
Qualifications
- 12+ years in product design
- 5+ years leading and managing design teams
- Experience coordinating across product design, research, and content/writing
- Proven track record partnering with marketing and brand
- Deep experience with design systems—building, scaling, and leveraging for quality and velocity
- Designed for trust in marketplaces, communities, or risk-involved products
- AI-native mindset with point of view on AI's impact on design teams
- Strong operator: rituals, sharp feedback, and team retention
- True player-coach who also ships hands-on work when it counts
