About the role
HR Business Partner (HRBP) focused on partnering with engineering teams to drive culture, performance, talent development, and organizational effectiveness within Lambda’s hybrid office environment in San Francisco and San Jose.
Responsibilities
- Champion Culture and Values: Promote and embed culture, mission, values, and purpose across teams, especially in hiring, performance management, and team dynamics.
- Strategic HR Partnering: Provide HR partnership to high-performing engineering teams, embed in team activities, identify blind spots affecting cohesion, performance, and morale.
- Support Team Leadership: Advise leaders on initiatives, offer feedback on interpersonal relationships, conflict resolution, and team culture.
- Execution of HR Strategy: Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with engineering needs and business objectives, including workforce planning and succession planning.
- Performance Management: Deliver coaching, counseling, and career development support; monitor performance and guide promotions and improvements.
- Talent Acquisition and Development: Participate in hiring process, especially culture interviews; refine interview processes and raise hiring bar.
- Interpersonal Relationships and Conflict Resolution: Coach individuals and teams to improve collaboration and resolve conflicts.
- Organizational Debugging: Identify organizational issues and implement pragmatic improvements.
- Drive Values Through Leadership: Influence hiring, promotion, and terminations based on core values; drive organizational change.
- Employee Relations and Legal Compliance: Manage complex employee relations with fairness and transparency; ensure legal compliance.
- Metrics and Insights: Analyze trends and metrics to drive improvements in performance, engagement, and retention.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of HR Business Partner experience, with at least 3+ years working directly with high-performing engineering teams.
- Extremely high emotional intelligence (EQ) and understanding of dynamics within high-performance teams.
- Strategic and tactical HR skills; ability to balance big-picture guidance with hands-on support.
- People-centric, coaching mindset focused on building high-performance teams and maintaining high standards in hiring and development.
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills; ability to interact with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
