About the role

Neo is seeking Staff and Principal Engineers to own end-to-end systems and contribute at the edge of their capability within a fast-growing fintech platform. The roles are intended for elite individual contributors who will influence architecture, tooling, testing, security, and on-call ownership across distributed, cloud-based microservices.

Responsibilities

  • Ship and own systems end to end (architecture, implementation, testing, production stability) across the full surface area
  • Treat AI tooling as essential and deploy meaningful improvements regularly
  • Write automated tests, own production systems, and handle on-call
  • Elevate the team through code reviews, documentation, pairing, and teaching authors to surface missing requirements and edge cases
  • Own day-to-day decisions autonomously to keep things moving
  • Architect and deploy systems handling real financial transactions across banking, credit, lending, and rewards
  • Work within a modern cloud infrastructure with a micro-services architecture and end-to-end domain ownership

Qualifications

  • Experience building and scaling systems with meaningful transaction volume or data throughput
  • Background in financial services, payments, or other regulated industries
  • Primary technical ownership of systems that matter and shaping architecture
  • Ability to operate across the full tech stack (front-end to back-end to infrastructure)
  • Strong automated testing, production ownership, and on-call mindset
