About the role

Senior Backend Engineer role on the Custody Services team, building and maintaining the infrastructure for crypto processing, wallet and key management, and third-party integrations. Based in London with in-person attendance at least 3 days per week and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run the AWS infrastructure behind custody, key management, and blockchain node operations.
  • Automate infrastructure and configuration management (Ansible, Terraform, or similar).
  • Run blockchain nodes across supported networks and maintain health and availability.
  • Write and maintain Python services for infrastructure management and wallet operations.
  • Own integrations with third-party custodians.
  • Build out Kubernetes and Docker deployments as the custody stack is containerized.
  • Set up monitoring and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent).
  • Apply security controls and standards (access control, key management, incident response).
  • Provide on-call support, responding to and resolving production issues to keep custody systems reliable and available.

Qualifications

  • Senior-level experience running cloud infrastructure (AWS) in production.
  • Experience managing blockchain nodes in production.
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform, or similar tooling.
  • Experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Solid Python and/or Go skills with real production experience.
  • Strong security focus with work on key management and access control.
  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent monitoring stack.
