About the role

Senior software engineer role on the Product Experiences team building user-facing features across the Peregrine platform, with ownership of major capabilities (Search, Dossier, Charts, Dashboards, Maps, Network, Table, Workspace, Docs, Automations, Mobile) and collaboration with design and PM to deliver fast, intuitive, trustworthy experiences that surface insights from large data sets.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership for major features and drive them to completion in collaboration with other engineers
  • Build and ship features across the Peregrine platform (Search, Dossier, Charts, Dashboards, Maps, Network, Table, Workspace, Docs, Automations, Mobile)
  • Design and implement search and semantic discovery across billions of records
  • Craft real-time, collaborative experiences on maps and networks
  • Bring AI-powered capabilities with source transparency and trust
  • Focus on latency, interaction design, and resilience in complex workflows
  • Collaborate with deployment team and users during iteration cycles

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in cross-functional software development
  • Experience shipping production-grade, user-facing software (professional or open-source)
  • Strong frontend fundamentals (React/TypeScript) and ability to work full-stack end-to-end
  • Ability to write robust, well-tested, well-designed code
  • Solid understanding of architecting and scaling distributed software systems
  • Strong software development best practices and ability to navigate large codebases
  • Located in San Francisco or Washington, D.C. and open to working in office 4 days a week
