About the role
Payroll Specialist to own accurate, timely, and compliant payroll for employees in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada, partnering with People Ops, Finance, and Accounting to build scalable payroll processes for growth domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for employees in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada, including payroll calculations, tax withholdings, deductions, and direct deposits; proactively identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain compliance with domestic and international payroll regulations by staying current on federal, state, local, and international payroll requirements, ensuring accurate tax filings, statutory deductions, and reporting.
- Manage employee payroll inquiries by providing timely and accurate support on payroll, deductions, tax withholdings, and related questions.
- Oversee payroll reporting by preparing payroll, tax, and benefits-related reports for People Ops, Finance, and leadership; partner with Accounting on payroll reconciliations and audits.
- Streamline payroll administration processes by identifying opportunities to improve workflows, automate manual tasks, and increase efficiency as Peregrine scales domestically and internationally.
- Support payroll and tax audits by maintaining accurate, complete, and audit-ready records, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of payroll expertise: Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations and working knowledge of UK and Canadian payroll requirements, including statutory deductions and tax reporting; Experience with Rippling is required.
