Quantum Engineer (Spin)
About the role
Role in Conductor Quantum to work across the full quantum stack from device bring-up to hosting a spin qubit platform, with high ownership and impact in calibration, measurement infrastructure, and system integration.
Responsibilities
- Device bring-up and measurement infrastructure: wire bonding, device packaging, chip mounting for cryogenic testing, design of PCBs for signal routing and filtering, cryogenic measurement setups including dilution refrigerators, wiring, and line testing, plus installation and testing of low-noise amplifiers, DC lines, filters, bias tees, and microwave components; develop robust cooldown and thermal cycling procedures.
- Device tuning and characterization: run transport, RF reflectometry, and charge sensing to identify quantum dot formation, tune gate voltages, extract stability diagrams, and diagnose limits like charge noise or readout chain.
- Calibration automation: encode expert tuning into software so the platform runs autonomously, close loop with software and ML teams.
- System performance and control stack: diagnose charge rearrangement, drift, fidelity degradation; scale lab environment; write/adapt control software for waveform generators, DACs, and lock-in amplifiers.
- Collaboration and system integration: work with physicists, ML engineers, and backend developers to unify hardware, software, and data pipelines; provide feedback on usability, stability, and performance.

About Conductor Quantum
Quantum computers on silicon chips using AI.
Quantum computers will allow humanity to understand the world at its most fundamental level, enabling the acceleration of drug discovery and the development of new materials. Currently, quantum engineers spend days, sometimes weeks, manually getting their silicon chips to operational conditions to realize two qubits. A qubit is the information-carrying unit of a quantum computer, analogous to a bit in a classical computer. We need billions of qubits to make a useful quantum computer. Therefore, automation software will be vital to realizing this goal. Conductor Quantum will develop AI software to remove the human from the loop, enable the scaling of silicon quantum technology and build a silicon-based quantum computer.
