About the role

Transportation Associate role supporting Amazon’s transportation network through trailer yard operations, yard coordination, and driver training programs, with opportunities for CDL development and hands-on experience with multiple CMVs in various Amazon site types.

Responsibilities

  • Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations and enforcing safety measures for all vehicle operators and yard entrants.
  • Perform yard functions to ensure trailers arrive/depart on time with zero defects and maintain workflow for buildings.
  • Be trained to operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non-public roads or in yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations.
  • Learn and comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies/procedures related to those regulations.
  • Complete driver vehicle inspection reports and notify managers of any maintenance or delivery issues.
  • Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours/breaks in compliance with Amazon policy and regulations; adhere to yard safety policies and traffic laws.
  • Provide peer training and/or work at nearby site locations as needed.
  • Drive, maneuver, and load/unload trucks using approved equipment (e.g., pallet jack).
  • Potentially earn CDL paid for by Amazon; пут may be required depending on business need.
  • Exposure to different site types (NACF, NASC, Air, AMZL & AMXL) and long-term transportation training.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Age 21 or older
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk for shifts up to 12 hours, and frequently push/pull/squat/bend/reach
  • Work 40 hours/week with overtime as required
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • English proficiency to understand and adhere to job requirements and safety guidelines
