About the role

Contract Specialist role focused on state and local government contracts to support sales, business development, and onboarding. Drafts, reviews, analyzes, negotiates sales contracts, guides procurement processes, ensures compliance, and communicates tradeoffs to internal stakeholders and customers. Based in Washington, DC, with in-office presence required 4 days/week.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, analyze, and negotiate all sales contracts
  • Map contract tradeoffs to company business goals
  • Guide the procurement process (fiscal, legal, etc.)
  • Support sales team with compliance, pricing, delivery requirements, etc.
  • Deliver contracts to customers with understanding of funding and procurement process
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, sales, operations; operate in a fast-paced, autonomous environment
  • Turn around contracts quickly and creatively explore procurement avenues

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of contracting experience in the enterprise software/SaaS space, state and local governments strongly preferred
  • Experience using contract lifecycle management systems and Salesforce strongly preferred
  • Ability to negotiate and close legal agreements with customers and support onboarding
  • Experience utilizing direct contracting mechanisms and third-party contracting vehicles such as Cooperative Purchasing Agreements
  • Familiarity with solution-based selling and navigating complex sales processes in teams
  • Excellent executive-level written communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • Located in Washington, D.C., and willing to come into the office 4 days/week
