About the role

Senior Software Engineer to join Affirm's International Accelerator Engineering team, a full-stack, Europe-based group focusing on Canada, the UK, and future international markets. Responsible for delivering quarterly goals, collaborating across product, design, and analytics, and improving productivity with AI applications while scaling Direct-to-Consumer products for international customers.

Responsibilities

  • Owning and delivering quarterly goals for the team and guiding engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems
  • Collaborating with product management, design, and analytics across the product development lifecycle
  • Proactively identifying and leading solutions to project, process, technology, or business issues
  • Supporting operations and availability of team artifacts, monitoring metrics, and on-call efforts
  • Fostering a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards
  • Developing team talent through feedback and leading by example

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
  • Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue
  • Ability to use AI to assist in delivering high-quality products
  • Experience defining a technical plan for delivering significant features with elegant, simple, extensible design
  • Proficiency in making significant changes in a large codebase with supporting tools and practices
  • Ownership mindset with proactive growth and feedback-seeking behavior
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for global collaboration
