About the role

Senior software engineer role focused on building containerized microservices for a distributed, multi-tenant cloud security platform. The role emphasizes design, implementation, operational hardening, mentoring, and collaboration with product management in a Kubernetes-based environment using Go and SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Develop containerized (micro) services for a distributed multi-tenant system that processes data and real-time events and network telemetry from multiple public clouds to provide real-time insights, visibility, and security recommendations to customers.
  • Design service architecture, defend designs, and deliver robust implementations.
  • Mentor junior engineers, new grads, and interns to help them grow as engineers.
  • Write code primarily in Go and work with data pipelines using SQL or other interfaces; leverage Kubernetes for service infrastructure.
  • Own critical features and subsystems and manage the full software development lifecycle from requirements clarification to deployment and usage by customers.
  • Own operational aspects of the system to understand real-world challenges and write better, more maintainable software.
  • Ensure code quality through early testing and functional/integration testing.
  • Partner with Product Management to review and refine requirements that exceed customer expectations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer problems through stakeholder interaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent degree (Master’s preferred).
  • 4+ years building distributed & scalable software and systems.
  • AWS / Azure / GCP cloud experience with API/programming level usage; networking and security controls a plus.
  • Experience delivering containerized services on a Kubernetes-based platform.
  • Go and SQL experience; REST API client experience.
  • CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible are nice to have.
  • General TCP/IP networking knowledge; Unix/Linux programming environment experience.
