About the role
Senior Software Engineer to design and build a vendor-agnostic storage control plane and orchestration layer for high-performance AI storage across multiple platforms and data centers.
Responsibilities
- Design and build a vendor-agnostic control plane that provisions, scales, heals, and meters storage across platforms and vendors.
- Define the internal abstraction layer that hides vendor-specific APIs behind a single declarative interface.
- Build reconciliation-loop and CRD-based orchestration (Kubernetes controllers, operators, custom schedulers) for capacity, tenancy, encryption domains, and placement across data centers and availability zones.
- Own multi-tenant isolation end-to-end including namespace/subsystem partitioning, per-tenant QoS and rate limiting, credential/key lifecycle, blast-radius containment, and noisy-neighbor detection.
- Design the capacity and placement engine with PCIe-topology- and NUMA-awareness and data-center/zone awareness.
- Instrument systems with SLI/SLO definitions, performance regression detection, and an observability pipeline for large-scale storage fleet.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software development for storage systems.
- Proven experience with distributed systems programming and concepts (load balancers, data-durability, consensus, fault tolerance, data consistency).
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, Go, or Python.
- Experience with Linux kernel internals and system-level programming.
- Experience with storage protocols (e.g. S3, NFS) and file systems (Ceph, DAOS, or similar).
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for production workloads.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and QA practices for distributed systems.
