About the role
Senior leadership role responsible for directing Vanta's Security Operations team, defining detection and response strategy, guiding incident response, and driving security program maturity with an emphasis on AI-enabled, trust-based practices in a SaaS/cloud environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of security operations analysts with an AI-first, human-centric, trust-based approach.
- Help define the strategy for Vanta’s security operations team and empower the team to implement robust security protocols.
- Leverage AI to improve efficiency of team processes and overall security program maturity.
- Lead and drive incident response from detection, remediation, to prevention.
- Identify, develop, and implement new processes in the security operations program.
- Identify new technologies and emerging threats and plan a technology-driven approach to address new risks.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership experience in security and ability to lead a global team with transparency and trust.
- Strong security operations experience, with emphasis on implementing security controls in SaaS and cloud environments.
- Experience crafting detections and observability strategies for security events.
- Familiarity with GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53 and experience ensuring compliance.
- Experience leveraging AI to improve security processes.
- Experience with incident response, including acting as incident commander for security incidents.
- Ability to assess and analyze security risks considering business and technical impact; prioritizing risk remediation aligned with business goals.
- Ability to build trust and strong internal partnerships toward security goals.
- Open to using AI to amplify skills and apply AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
