About the role
Mechanical Engineering internship/co-op in Austin, TX focusing on designing, refining, and scaling manufacturing processes for advanced reactor hardware over a 12–16 week term with on-site work and mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and update 3‑D CAD models, detailed drawings, and GD&T.
- Draft work instructions, router steps, and inspection plans that satisfy ASME and internal quality standards.
- Collect production data, perform root‑cause analysis on non‑conformances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Present findings and quantified results to engineering leadership at the end of the term.
Qualifications
- Growth mindset and positive attitude
- Currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. program in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (or closely related field).
- ≥ 3 months of hands‑on engineering experience (course projects, research, internships, student shop, or personal builds).
- Working knowledge of CAD/CAM and basic structural or thermal analysis.
- Able to work full‑time, on‑site in Austin TX, for at least 12 consecutive weeks.
