About the role

NOC / Data Center Operations Engineer to monitor, operate, and ensure reliability of Armada's physical infrastructure and distributed edge data centers, serving as a Tier 2 escalation point and driving incident resolution and operational improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor critical physical infrastructure using PLC, BMS, and DCIM platforms (e.g., Distech, Radix IoT/Mango, Schneider Electric, Siemens)
  • Monitor and respond to alerts involving power, cooling, network connectivity, environmental conditions, and facility infrastructure
  • Provide Tier 2 support and coordinate escalations to engineering, facilities, vendors, or other teams
  • Own incidents from triage to resolution, including stakeholder communication and documentation
  • Support incident response and post-incident reviews; improve operational reliability and response procedures
  • Develop and refine monitoring dashboards, alert thresholds, and health indicators
  • Perform routine health checks of UPS, PDUs, CRAC/CRAH, backup generators, and environmental monitoring systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical infrastructure issues (MEP) and read electrical and network diagrams
  • Coordinate scheduled and emergency maintenance; participate in change management
  • Ensure compliance with physical and logical security policies in data center/edge environments
  • Operate and support modular, containerized, and distributed edge data center environments
  • Maintain availability and resiliency across distributed and remote infrastructure
  • Coordinate remote troubleshooting and hands-on support for edge deployments
  • Improve operational practices for remote monitoring, fault detection, escalation, and recovery
  • Support environmental sensors and IoT monitoring integrations
  • Use Grafana, Zoho Desk, Zenduty, ServiceNow, Jira, SolarWinds for monitoring and ticketing
  • Maintain documentation of configurations, incidents, changes, maintenance tasks
  • Support automation and reporting for performance, availability, capacity, and uptime
  • Gather operational evidence for compliance and audit requirements
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks using scripting and integrations
  • Collaborate with Facilities, Infrastructure Engineering, Networking, IT, Security, and other teams; communicate clearly during incidents and handoffs
  • Participate in incident reviews, root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions
  • Contribute to runbooks, SOPs, escalation processes, and best practices
  • Participate in on-call or shift-based model to support 24x7 infrastructure

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in NOC, data center operations, or related technical role
  • Hands-on experience with power and cooling infrastructure in data centers or mission-critical environments
  • Knowledge of UPS, PDU, CRAC/CRAH, generators, and environmental monitoring systems
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, monitoring, and alerting
  • Experience with critical infrastructure monitoring platforms (Distech, Radix IoT/Mango, Schneider Electric, Siemens)
  • Experience with incident management, troubleshooting, escalation, and change management
  • Ability to read electrical one-lines, network schematics, and equipment documentation
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work in a shift-based and/or on-call environment (nights/weekends)
