Technical Program Manager, Finance Systems & Compliance
Hybrid (San Francisco, California)$133k - $223kFull-timePosted 2mo ago
About the role
Technical Program Manager to lead systems, data, and process work behind billing, revenue recognition, close of books, and IT general controls. Acts as the finance technical counterpart across product launches, quote-to-cash, record-to-report, and audits, interfacing with Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Data, and Security.
Responsibilities
- Act as Finance's technical counterpart on new product, pricing, and packaging launches, translating commercial models into requirements across order capture, rating and billing, tax, revenue recognition, and downstream reporting, and defining what "revenue-ready" means before go/no-go: ownership, deliverables, risks.
- Broker trade-offs when launches misalign with systems reality, documenting manual workarounds with owners, costs, and expiration dates, and mapping path to automated versions; close the loop post-launch on billing accuracy and controls.
- Independently own delivery and multi-quarter roadmaps for finance systems programs (ERP, billing and subscription management, CPQ, revenue subledger, procurement, reporting layer); run cross-functional working groups.
- Run operating rhythm: intake/prioritization, decision logs, risk escalation, metrics to measure improvement, manage scope vs capacity.
- Map current-state processes and data lineage; partner with Data Engineering on data contracts to align finance metrics with source systems; enforce consistency across teams.
- Drive ITGC workstreams for in-scope financial systems: access, change management, SDLC/CI-CD, job scheduling, data interfaces; partner with Internal Audit on scoping and control design.
- Facilitate designing controls into new systems and launches; serve as systems-side contact for internal/external audit on ITGC walkthroughs and testing; drive deficiencies to resolution with owners and evidence.
- Build AI-assisted workflows with defined tasks, output quality evaluation, human review gates for financial reporting, and proper documentation.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in technical program management, business systems, finance transformation or related field with substantial time on finance or revenue systems; public-company or IPO-track experience is a strong plus.
- Working fluency in finance operations; ability to navigate quote-to-cash and record-to-report and understand revenue recognition vs billing.
- Hands-on ITGC program experience across access, change management, IT operations for in-scope financial systems; practical SOX knowledge.
- AI-native operating mindset; experience using AI to draft requirements, synthesize status, triage intake, and assemble evidence packages.
