About the role

Senior Software Engineer position on Robinhood’s Enterprise Build team, transforming AI prototypes into enterprise-grade services within a regulated financial environment. Role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, AI-native development, collaboration with business units, and adherence to robust security and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assess prototype AI/velocity builds and decide whether to harden, rebuild, or redirect, owning the outcome end-to-end.
  • Design, build, and ship services on Robinhood's enterprise platforms meeting full standards for secure, reliable enterprise software.
  • Build AI-natively by driving agents through first-pass assessment, porting, and test scaffolding; ship MCP servers, sub-agents, and agent skills as production artifacts where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with sponsoring business units (Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance) to translate workflows into adoptable software.
  • Deliver clean operational handoffs: runbooks, evals, dashboards.
  • Establish platform-enabled patterns with the Enterprise Platforms team to convert repeated solutions into platform capabilities.
  • Raise the bar on AI-era engineering quality with rigorous, teaching-quality review of AI-generated code.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience building and running production backend or full-stack systems, with a track record of independently delivering high-ambiguity projects end-to-end.
  • Hands-on cloud depth, GCP preferred, including containerized services, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code, with a strong focus on a serverless stack.
  • Demonstrated AI-native development: daily fluency with agentic coding tools, experience building LLM-powered applications or agentic workflows, and the judgment to review, harden, and productionize AI-generated code.
  • Product sense and scoping discipline: ability to identify critical 20% of prototype to keep and finish, avoiding scope creep.
  • Exceptional communication with non-engineers; comfortable working with finance, legal, or HR partners.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries, particularly finance or fintech, strongly preferred.
