About the role

Senior Go developer within the Platform Engineering team responsible for building internal developer tooling, scalable automation, governance systems, self-service infrastructure, and Go-based backend services on Kubernetes/EKS.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Internal Developer Tooling: Build high-performance Go-based APIs, microservices, and CLI tools that reduce friction and boost engineering productivity.
  • Engineer Scalable Automation: Design and implement systems that orchestrate workflows between systems of record, SaaS platforms, and internal infrastructure.
  • Implement Governance-as-Code: Design and maintain automated systems for repository and service oversight to stay consistent, secure, and aligned with standards as we scale.
  • Build Self-Service Infrastructure: Create automated interfaces that allow teams to request and manage infrastructure resources securely without Platform team intervention.
  • Operate and Optimize: Collaborate to deploy and maintain reliable Go-based backend systems on Kubernetes/EKS; performance profiling and tuning.

Qualifications

  • Proven professional experience as a Backend Engineer using Go.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with building services on top of Kubernetes.
  • Solid knowledge of scalable web service development (RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems).
  • Strong proficiency in designing and consuming APIs, including auth protocols.
  • Proficiency in database management, with experience in optimizing performance, designing schemas, and query optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with performance profiling and debugging tools.
  • Experience managing infrastructure on AWS and working with GitHub as a core platform.
  • Solid understanding of version control (Git) and CI/CD.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience building internal developer-facing tools or CLI applications.
  • Passion for 'Platform as a Product' and automating the developer lifecycle.
