About the role

Senior Frontend Engineer focused on App Experience and web frontend at Affirm, leveraging React with TypeScript to own features, migrate/modernize code, and contribute to design systems and architecture across web and app surfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Owning and delivering quarterly goals for the team; leading engineers through ambiguity and ensuring delivery support.
  • Collaborating with product management, design and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle; ideation, articulating technical constraints, and decision-making with risk and trade-offs.
  • Proactively identifying and solving project, process, technology, or business issues; advocating and leading improvements.
  • Supporting operations and availability of the team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and contributing to on-call efforts.
  • Fostering a culture of quality and ownership by setting/improving code review and design standards and promoting them beyond the team through writing and tech talks.
  • Developing talent on the team by providing feedback and guidance, and leading by example.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience developing and architecting web applications using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience working across multiple teams and driving horizontal initiatives with demonstrated leadership.
  • Experience delivering major features, system components, or deprecating functionality with a defined technical and execution plan; writing high-quality, reusable code.
  • Experience defining technical plans for delivery of significant features or components with elegant, simple, and extensible design; writing high-quality code.
  • Ability to make significant changes in a large codebase and develop tools/practices to enable safe changes.
  • Demonstrated ownership of personal growth, seeking feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.
