About the role

Engineering leader role at Tapestry (a Google/Alphabet X spinout) responsible for technical strategy, architecture, and development of enterprise applications for scalable grid solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive Technical Strategy: Define and drive a forward-looking technical vision that closely aligns with product roadmaps and customer priorities.
  • Architect at Scale: Guide the architecture and design of enterprise applications with emphasis on scale, complexity, availability, fault tolerance, and security to meet Google-scale reliability standards.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and leadership: Partner with product managers, UX designers, data scientists, power systems engineers, and other engineering leaders to translate business ambiguity into concrete technical roadmaps.
  • Hands-on technical contributions: Maintain strong technical depth and provide guidance and mentorship on design and implementation, diving deep as needed.
  • Build and develop high-performing teams: Coach and develop engineers and technical leaders, foster a strong engineering culture, and build organizational capabilities for long-term goals.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on distributed systems, backend infrastructure, and enterprise applications.
  • At least 10 years in formal people management or high-impact technical leadership roles.
  • Architectural depth in designing, building, and scaling reliable production systems; knowledge of large-scale data processing and modeling.
  • Operational excellence with reliability engineering, performance optimization, and tools/processes for large teams.
  • Strong communication skills to translate high-level ambiguity into concrete technical roadmaps.
