About the role

Staff Software Engineer to lead architectural evolution of Xometry’s flagship enterprise partnership, re-architect core application services to integrate within partner ecosystems, and drive DFM/IQE AI-enabled, zero-latency procurement experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Software Development and Technical Craft: design high-performance solutions that extend beyond a single org, establishing standards for embedding Xometry-AI into external PLM environments and ensuring extensibility, scalability, and enterprise SLIs/SLOs.
  • AI Fluency: lead integration of production ML pipelines into the application layer, optimize model serving and real-time geometry analysis, and mentor engineers on AI tool usage to accelerate delivery and reduce toil.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making: address data gravity and security challenges, establish formal networks between partner and Xometry engineering groups, and develop ring-fenced data governance within partner networks.
  • Scope and Impact: set strategic direction and lead execution of core integration, ensuring DFM and IQE AI engines create a defensible edge for the partnership.
  • Collaboration and Communication: facilitate cross-organizational technical discourse, guide risk/reward conversations with senior leadership, and champion cross-functional development across marketplace and data science teams.
  • Operational Excellence: define reliability and security standards for enterprise deployments (partner-hosted or Xometry-hosted) and manage multi-tenant environments.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of professional software development experience, with a history of scaling complex platforms.
  • Expert-level mastery of Python, AWS infrastructure, and modern frontend frameworks (React/NextJS) used for complex enterprise applications.
  • Proven experience shaping the technical direction of multiple teams and establishing engineering patterns as organizational standards.
  • Track record of securing endorsement for 6-12 month initiatives and driving them to successful production deployment.
  • Ability to influence senior leadership and external partners on technical strategy and long-term technology investments.
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
