About the role

Staff Software Engineer to join Xometry's Core Platform team, focusing on architectural evolution of the flagship enterprise partnership and re-architecting core application services to operate natively within partner ecosystems, enabling zero-latency DFM feedback and one-click procurement within customers' design environments.

Responsibilities

  • Software Development and Technical Craft: design high-performance solutions that extend beyond a single org and establish standards for embedding Xometry-AI into external PLM environments; ensure extensible, scalable architecture with enterprise SLIs/SLOs.
  • AI Fluency: integrate production ML pipelines into the application layer, optimize model serving and real-time geometry analysis; mentor engineers on AI tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making: address data gravity and security challenges; create formal networks between partner and Xometry teams to enable ring-fenced data governance where part files stay within the partner network.
  • Scope and Impact: establish strategic direction and lead execution of core integration; drive integration of DFM (Manufacturability) and IQE (Pricing) AI engines to create a defensible edge for the partnership.
  • Collaboration and Communication: facilitate technical discourse across Xometry; communicate risk/reward to senior leadership; champion cross-functional development across marketplace and data science teams.
  • Operational Excellence: define reliability and security standards for enterprise-grade deployments (partner-hosted or Xometry-hosted); ensure multi-tenant management.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of professional software development experience, with a history of scaling complex platforms.
  • Expert-level mastery of Python, AWS infrastructure, and modern frontend frameworks (React/NextJS) used for complex enterprise applications.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Architect shaping technical direction of multiple teams and establishing engineering patterns as standards.
  • Track record of strategic roadmap execution for 6-12 month initiatives and successful production deployment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and external partners on technical strategy and long-term investments.
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
