About the role

Finance generalist role responsible for owning Chai Discovery's financial operating system end to end, including books, close process, cash forecasting, vendor management, controls, and audit readiness, with potential involvement in strategic capital allocations and major investments as the company scales.

Responsibilities

  • Own the quality of our books and close process
  • Build a trusted view of where our money is going
  • Take over the financial model and cash forecast
  • Manage accounting and finance vendors
  • Improve systems and controls
  • Lead audit readiness
  • Support strategic questions: allocating capital, modeling major investments, negotiating important relationships, and generally supporting key decisions as we grow

Qualifications

  • Financial generalist with operational rigor and strong financial judgment
  • Hands-on with invoices, vendor management, cash forecasting, and working with accounting firms
  • Startup experience preferred (early finance hire or high-growth tech company background)
  • Ability to own outcomes, fix issues, and build scalable systems
