About the role

Senior software engineer role focusing on building and shipping advanced AI agents (Rico and AI Paywall Editor) that manage subscriptions, provide data-driven insights, and automate customer-facing tooling at RevenueCat.

Responsibilities

  • Ship agentic features to thousands of developers and shape foundational systems: orchestration, tool execution, context management, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop controls.
  • Develop and maintain agents (Rico and AI Paywall Editor) that can read data, explain findings, and perform changes with human approval.
  • Build and improve backend systems for reliability, observability, security, and scale.
  • Collaborate with Product to scope, prioritize, and drive rollout of features rather than following a rigid spec.
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and incident response; mentor other engineers.
  • Engage with customers to understand the real-world impact of your work.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience shipping production systems.
  • Built agents and the surrounding ecosystem (tool use, structured output, context management, evaluation, orchestration).
  • Strong backend fundamentals; reliable, observable, secure systems.
  • High-quality, well-tested code; ability to ship iteratively and raise engineering bar.
  • Customer-obsessed mindset; effective communication in remote settings.
  • Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar codebases and improve them.
  • Self-directed, curious, with interest in AI tools and practices.
  • Experience shipping user-facing features and monitoring adoption.
