About the role

Deployment Engineer for Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped (GDCag) in the Public Sector, responsible for deploying solutions at customer sites and internal references, troubleshooting infrastructure, and enabling partner and customer deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy GDCag solutions at customer sites as well as internal reference deployments.
  • Perform complex day to day troubleshooting and resolution of Infrastructure issues (Network, Storage, Servers, OS, Kubernetes, etc.).
  • Interact with customers as well as internal development organizations in order to accomplish shared goals successfully.
  • Participate in Customer, Partner, and Internal team deployments and training which require international travel.
  • Contribute to train-the-trainer programs to equip Google partners with the knowledge and skills to effectively conduct customer deployments independently.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field such as Computer Networking, Information Security, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience automating infrastructure provisioning, developer operations, or continuous integration, delivery, designing, building, and deploying of cloud-based solution architectures.
  • Experience with physical and virtual infrastructure, operating systems, or virtualization.
  • Experience in scripting and development languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash) for Automation.
  • Experience in either Linux/Docker/Kubernetes technologies or Windows and Active Directory environments.
  • Due to the sensitive nature of this role, candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance under the German Classification Act (SÜG).
