About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The role sits in the Data Center Life Cycle (DCLC) team within AWS Networking, owning design and delivery of new network fabrics to refresh Data Centers and decommission obsolete ones. The position involves coordinating cross-team activities, defining processes, and implementing automation with a focus on safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • - Own the Network Engineering functions for programs like DC Build, DC refresh and Turndown.
  • - Work with various network Fabric teams to design, and deliver HLDs, define process required for successful executions for these programs.
  • - Execute these processes in projects and coordinate impacted network and infrastructure teams to ensure project success.
  • - Ensure operational excellence, namely that all activities are done safely with no impact to customer traffic.
  • - Define and implement automation required for the programs.

Qualifications

  • - Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols
  • - Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting
  • - Experience in major internet routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF
  • - Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos
  • - Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment
