About the role

Area Manager II at Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services leverages leadership and operational excellence to manage a team of hourly associates, ensuring safety, quality, attendance, and on-time customer deliveries across multiple workflows within a fulfillment center.

Responsibilities

  • Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
  • Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
  • Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, Human Resources to meet business objectives
  • Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
  • Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts
  • Work in environments with variable noise, temperatures, and weather (delivery stations include outside loading)
  • Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs)
  • Act as a strategic leader overseeing up to 80 associates while driving department level operational improvements
  • Conduct planning sessions with your team and coach through challenges
  • Partner cross-functionally with teams such as Quality, HR, and Safety to implement scalable process improvements impacting 200+ associates across multiple workflows
  • Diagnose root causes of performance gaps using advanced analytics
  • Facilitate alignment meetings with senior leadership on department-level goals
  • Review department-wide metrics and plan initiatives impacting millions of customer orders
  • Make data-driven decisions balancing safety, quality, and productivity standards

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
