About the role
Cleared Data Center Technician role within AWS Infrastructure Services, focusing on hardware, fiber, networking, and related datacenter infrastructure issues. Requires TS/SCI with polygraph and US citizenship; positions may vary across sites and include 24/7 shifts.
Responsibilities
- Engage in physical data center activities including capacity planning and tracking, rack deployment, rack cabling, hardware and software troubleshooting, and rack decommissioning
- Lift and move material up to 49 pounds
- Work in cramped/elevated locations, bend, lift, stretch, and reach
- Stand and walk for up to 8+ hours a day; ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely
- Work in a noisy environment
- Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (night and day shifts)
- Take ownership of technical issues, engage other teams to drive resolution
- Troubleshoot and solve problems at their root; understand broader context
- Maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting
- Act with initiative and drive process improvements
- Position may be at one of multiple sites and involve varying schedules (days/nights/weekends/holidays)
Qualifications
- High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
- 2+ years of server hardware troubleshooting and repair experience, or experience in networking
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Associate's degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience
