About the role
Cleared data center technician role within AWS Infrastructure Services, focusing on hardware, fiber, networking, and related datacenter issues. Requires TS/SCI with polygraph clearance and US citizenship to support 24/7 operations across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Engage in physical data center activities: capacity planning and tracking, rack deployment, rack cabling, hardware and software troubleshooting, and rack decommissioning.
- Lift and move material up to 49 pounds each.
- Work in cramped/elevated locations; bend, lift, stretch, reach; stand/walk up to 8+ hours; ascend/descend ladders and gangways safely.
- Work in a noisy environment; shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (days/nights/weekends/holidays).
- Take ownership of technical issues, engage other teams to drive resolution, troubleshoot, and resolve root causes; maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting.
- Improve effectiveness through process innovation; operate across multiple sites with potential shift variations.
Qualifications
- High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND or Network+ or Security+
- 2+ years of server hardware troubleshooting and repair experience, or experience in networking
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Associate's degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience
