About the role
Cleared Data Center Technician role within AWS Infrastructure Services focusing on diagnosing and resolving data center infrastructure issues (hardware, fiber, networking) and supporting 24/7 operations across multiple sites. Requires TS/SCI with polygraph clearance and US citizenship.
Responsibilities
- Engage in physical data center activities including capacity planning, rack deployment, rack cabling, hardware and software troubleshooting, and rack decommissioning
- Lifting and moving material up to 49 pounds each
- Working in cramped and/or elevated locations
- Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching
- Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely
- Work in a noisy environment
- Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts)
- Take ownership of technical issues brought by customers, engaging other teams to drive resolution
- Troubleshoot and solve problems at their root and understand broader context
- Maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting
- Be proactive and act without direction; contribute to process improvements
- Role may shift across multiple sites and include variable day/night/weekend/holiday schedules
Qualifications
- High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
- 2+ years of server hardware troubleshooting and repair experience, or experience in networking
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Associate's degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience
