About the role

Cleared Data Center Technician position within AWS Infrastructure Services, focused on diagnosing and resolving data center hardware, fiber, networking, and related infrastructure issues across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • - Engage in physical data center activities including capacity planning, rack deployment, rack cabling, hardware and software troubleshooting, and rack decommissioning.
  • - Lift and move material up to 49 pounds
  • - Work in cramped and/or elevated locations
  • - Bend, lift, stretch, and reach
  • - Stand and walk up to 8+ hours a day
  • - Ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely
  • - Work in a noisy environment
  • - Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (night and day shifts)
  • - Take ownership of technical issues, engage other teams to drive resolution
  • - Troubleshoot and solve problems at root cause
  • - Maintain SLAs via proactive issue detection and reporting
  • - Act with minimal direction and support
  • - Improve processes through innovation
  • - May be assigned to different sites and shifts (days/nights/weekends/holidays)

Qualifications

  • - High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
  • - 2+ years of server hardware troubleshooting and repair experience, or networking experience
  • - Current TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph
  • - Associate's degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional/military experience
