About the role
Cleared Data Center Technician role in AWS Infrastructure Services focused on diagnosing and fixing a range of data center infrastructure issues, including hardware, fiber, and networking, within US sites and offering 24/7 shift coverage.
Responsibilities
- Engage in physical data center activities including capacity planning, rack deployment, rack cabling, hardware and software troubleshooting, and rack decommissioning
- Lifting and moving material up to 49 pounds
- Working in cramped and/or elevated locations
- Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching
- Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely
- Working in a noisy environment
- Working shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (night and day shifts)
- Take ownership of technical issues from customers and coordinate with other teams to drive resolution
- Troubleshoot and solve problems at root cause and understand broader context
- Maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting
- Act proactively in absence of direction or support
- Improve processes through innovation
- Position may be at one of multiple sites with potential varied schedules
Qualifications
- High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
- 2+ years of server hardware troubleshooting and repair experience, or experience in networking
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Associate's degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience
