About the role
Cleared Data Center Technicians to join AWS Infrastructure Operations. Responsible for resolving and troubleshooting data center infrastructure issues across hardware, fiber, networking, and related systems, applying IT principles to maintain AWS's global infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Engage in physical data center activities including capacity planning and tracking, rack deployment, rack cabling, hardware and software troubleshooting, and rack decommissioning
- Lifting and moving material up to 49 pounds
- Working in cramped and/or elevated locations
- Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching
- Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely
- Work in a noisy environment
- Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (including night and day shifts)
- Take ownership of technical issues, engage other teams to drive resolution
- Troubleshoot and solve problems, identifying root causes
- Maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting
- Bias to act in absence of direction, and improve processes through innovation
Qualifications
- High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Associate's degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience
- 2+ years of experience with server hardware and 1+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems
