About the role
Cleared SDE role with AWS Government focus, building and operating services for messaging and data streaming (SQS/SNS, Kinesis Data Streams, AWS Managed Flink and Kafka) at scale for U.S. Government agencies. Focus on troubleshooting, feature development, and enterprise-wide system operations with TS/SCI clearance.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot complex system operations across enterprise scope, not just servers
- Develop and build new features for SQS/SNS, Kinesis Data Streams, AWS Managed Flink and Kafka
- Explore radical approaches to automate operational issues
- Design and build operational scalability to sustain platform growth
- Measure impact on efficiency and effectiveness of government services
- Support AWS Storage and Data services engineering and operations (Day-to-day activities)
- Region and feature builds, system health monitoring, provisioning devices, data ingestion, device cleaning
- Troubleshooting device, network, and configuration issues
- Document engineering/operations recommendations; write after-action reports; communicate with team
- Provide on-call support when necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
- 1+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
