About the role

Senior Builder on the App Platform team responsible for defining technical direction for Ring's mobile architecture, promoting AI-powered development practices, and shaping scalable mobile solutions for tens of millions of users across iOS and Android (and cross-platform options).

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the technical strategy for Ring's mobile architecture, balancing development velocity with performance and reliability for a home security product
  • Champion AI-powered development practices across the mobile organization — from AI-assisted code generation and automated testing to intelligent code review and predictive quality assurance
  • Architect mobile solutions that serve tens of millions of daily active users on iOS and Android
  • Establish frameworks, SDKs, tooling, and best practices to accelerate feature development, improve code quality, increase testability, strengthen observability, and streamline from idea to production
  • Drive CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies, modularization, and release engineering for large-scale codebases
  • Mentor and influence engineers, raising the bar for mobile development practices and fostering a culture of technical excellence
  • Partner with product, UX, backend, and infrastructure teams to deliver cohesive features across Ring's ecosystem
  • Shape the future of how Ring builds mobile software and define the development experience across the organization
  • Experiment with AI-powered development workflows, identifying opportunities to reduce toil and accelerate delivery
  • Engage in deep technical discussions on architecture, performance, state management, and platform tradeoffs
  • Build platform capabilities and infrastructure that protect millions of homes—with tangible safety impact

Qualifications

  • - 7+ years of professional software development experience building mobile applications
  • - 5+ years of deep native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) or Android (Kotlin/Java) development, with working knowledge of the other platform — or equivalent depth in cross-platform frameworks (e.g., React Native)
  • - Experience mentoring or leading an engineering team or design/architecture leadership for multiple teams or initiatives
  • - Demonstrated experience building and operating applications at large scale (millions of DAU)
  • - Experience designing modern mobile architectures (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, unidirectional data flow) using current tooling (SwiftUI/UIKit, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Combine)
  • - Strong command of full mobile SDLC including CI/CD, automated testing, release management, and production monitoring
  • - Experience leading technical initiatives spanning multiple teams or influencing engineering practices
