About the role

AWS Global Sales seeks a Solutions Architect to work with South African Enterprise customers across multiple industries, driving AI and Cloud transformations. The role involves understanding business drivers, assessing portfolios, and designing reliable, cost-effective cloud-native architectures while partnering with multiple AWS teams to accelerate adoption of AWS services.

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the Business Development team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS
  • As a key member of the solutions architecture team, ensure success in building, migrating and modernising applications, software and services on the AWS cloud and AI platform
  • Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
  • Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS (i.e Dev Days or Immersion Days)
  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS Solutions Architect community
  • Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as white papers
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers, Service Teams and Support

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
