About the role

Software Development Engineer to design, build, and operate high-availability, low-latency distributed systems for inventory transfer and crossdocking in Amazon's fulfillment network. Focus on scalable, fault-tolerant transactional services with strong operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with software engineers and product managers to build and operate high-availability, low-latency distributed systems that execute inventory transfer and crossdocking decisions across Amazon's fulfillment network
  • Design and build scalable, fault-tolerant, transactional services where correctness and reliability are non-negotiable
  • Own the design, delivery, and operation of significant components of a Tier-1 service, raise the operational and design bar for the team, and help drive improvements to our architecture
  • Work with modern distributed-systems technologies to deliver solutions that positively impact all Amazon customers

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
