About the role

Experienced Class 1 driver position focused on transporting live animals, with safety emphasis and National Safety Code compliance. Night shift, on-site, salary-based pay-per-load.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport live animals (e.g., poultry or cattle) from farms to designated facilities (Northern Alberta Facilities)
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer
  • Ensure humane handling of livestock
  • Monitor animal welfare during transit and respond to emergencies if needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and biosecurity standards of transport equipment
  • Complete and submit accurate transport logs and delivery documentation
  • Communicate effectively with farm staff, dispatch, and facility personnel

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years issued Class 1 license with air brake (Q) endorsement
  • Clean Commercial Driver’s Abstract printed within 30 days
  • Resume with minimum of 3 years working experience with references
  • Provincial/Federal Daily Driver’s Log experience
  • Maintenance/Heavy Duty repair experience is an asset
  • Experience with transporting livestock is an asset
  • Positive attitude and work ethic
  • No border crossing trips required
