About the role

Apify is hiring a Fullstack Engineer to join the Discovery team, building and improving the Store discovery experience (search, recommendations, categorization, and presentation) and the backend pipelines behind them. You’ll work across the stack to help users and AI agents find the right Actor, run experiments, and contribute to data-driven improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Build and improve Store search: relevance, ranking, and query understanding.
  • Integrate and experiment with recommender systems.
  • Develop the Store surfaces in React/TypeScript: search results, category and listing pages, and the end-to-end "find the right Actor" experience.
  • Build the backend behind discovery: scoring services, quality-evaluation pipelines, and data processes for catalog accuracy.
  • Run A/B experiments to measure discovery impact on activation and retention.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and data to turn discovery goals into measurable improvements.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience building fullstack web applications with a track record of shipping user-facing features
  • Strong skills in TypeScript/React with Node.js-based backends
  • Comfort owning a problem end-to-end across the stack (UI to data behind it)
  • Experiment-driven mindset with use of A/B tests and metrics
  • Good English communication and collaboration with product, design, and data
