About the role
Lead end-to-end execution of multiple data center infrastructure projects (Greenfield builds, colocation fit-outs, equipment upgrades, lifecycle replacements) as the single point of contact for construction activities, coordinating with data center providers, MEP contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage the build out of multiple data center projects concurrently from detailed design to physical build out, including Greenfield construction, colocation whitespace fit-outs, equipment upgrades, and end-of-life replacements; oversee MEP Contractors and Equipment Suppliers.
- Coordinate with internal SMEs across electrical, mechanical, and low voltage to ensure project requirements and technical specifications are aligned.
- Prepare, review, and monitor project schedules, budgets, and forecasts for design and construction expenditures with Data Center Providers and Contractors.
- Review OFCI equipment submittals and provide recommendations to Construction Management and Procurement teams.
- Participate in design reviews, provide feedback on designs, sequence of operations, basis of design, and commissioning plans.
- Assist with RFPs for OFCI equipment and whitespace fit-outs; evaluate proposals and oversee vendor alignment with budget and schedules.
- Prepare and deliver detailed project reports to executive leadership and project teams; track budgets, schedules, and scope objectives.
- Provide regular project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits to review design implementation, progress, and adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Network Engineering, Data Center Operations, HPC, Supply Chain, TPM) to ensure alignment with objectives.
- Contribute to internal design meetings; stay up-to-date with industry trends and integrate innovative solutions into project designs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 10+ years of experience managing data center construction or critical infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems; experience coordinating with electrical, mechanical, and low voltage trades.
- Experience reviewing OFCI submittals and overseeing procurement and installation processes.
- Strong documentation and writing skills; ability to create clear project documents and decision-making materials.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills; data-driven decision making.
- Experience with construction scheduling and budgeting; forecasting, tracking, and reporting.
- Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet) and construction tracking platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage with stakeholders across teams.
