About the role

Staff software engineering role focused on modernizing and operating Huntress Detection Platform, owning cross-team delivery of high-throughput, reliable detection engines and pipelines, with hands-on coding and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Detection engine and pipeline modernization. Rewriting to support Sigma v2, stateful cross-event correlation, migrating from bespoke detectors to a common platform, leading major workstreams and validating equivalence of reworked pipelines.
  • Reliability and behavior under load. Implement end-to-end latency measurement, liveness coverage, alerting, and mechanisms to bound and recover from spikes to ensure non-disruptive operation under load.
  • Event schemas and data contracts. Contribute to coherent internal standards, build validation and drift-detection tooling to catch upstream changes before they affect detections.

Qualifications

  • Deep experience designing, building, and operating production distributed systems at scale, primarily in Go; across multiple stack layers.
  • Experience replacing or re-architecting live high-throughput systems with proven safe cut-over strategies.
  • Experience with high-volume data pipelines and understanding of behavior under load, queues, lag, and correctness during backpressure.
  • Strong operability instincts: observability-by-design, effective alerting for missing work, and production diagnostics.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership across teams, setting direction and raising engineering bar without formal authority.
  • Judgment on production quality and shipping decisions; knowing when to ship, evaluate, or hold.
